Leep Colposcopy
There are two procedures performed together, the leep colposcopy, sometimes another surgery is opted for which is the cone biopsy, also done with a colposcopy.
This procedure is a diagnostic tool, which helps to determine the cause of abnormalities found by the test. Basically, this is a visual examination of the cervix, which is performed in your physician's office. The procedure does not take much time.

If the Pap smear of a patient contains abnormal results, it does not necessarily mean cancer. This is only a screening test. In order to make the right diagnosis, the physician may want to take a closer look at the cervix of the patient.
