Swollen Cervix
An inflammed swollen cervix observed under colposcopy is generally a sign of infections for which a cone biopsy may be needed to confirm.
There exist many antibiotics, and usually symptoms improve within a few days after the appropriate treatment is started. In case of pelvic inflammatory disease treatment may take several weeks. This disorder rarely comes back, unless you get a new infection.

This condition together with inflammation, irritation, itching, painful intercourse, and bloody discharge usually occurs during cervicitis, caused by STD (gonorrhea, genital herpes, or chlamidia), infections, or injury. It can be easily detected by pelvic examination and tests on the discharge.
