Stenotic Cervix

A stenotic cervix (closed cervix) is a potential negative side effect of treating HPV generated dysplasia via cone biopsy. Cervical stenosis makes the opening too large and impedes menstrual flow, leading to increased cramping and a higher chance of endometrosis. If a woman has a cervix that is staying closed during the labor, much danger is involved in this situation. A stenotic cervix (closed cervix) is a potential negative side effect of treating HPV generated dysplasia via cone biopsy.

Stenosis is a scarred sphyncter that won't open. This disorder can happen from any cervical trauma (LEEP procedures, conization, hysteroscopy for dysplasia and others) or after menopause from atrophy. During the labor the stenotic tissue disintegrates with sharp pain. A stenotic cervix (closed cervix) is a potential negative side effect of treating HPV generated dysplasia via cone biopsy.
