Cone Biopsy Cervix
A sample from a cone biopsy cervix tissue is sent for cytology if human papilloma virus or ASCUS is suspected.
Usually the diseased tissue is completely removed. Results from this test are usually back within a week. If cancer is found, your doctor will discuss treatment options that may include further surgery, radiation therapy or biological response modifiers. Complications are rare.

Cone Biopsy Cervix -
Human Papilloma Virus, ASCUS
This procedure is usually done when a woman has abnormal results from a Pap smear test. The test may show abnormal, pre-cancer-like changes in the cervical cells. Generally done under general anesthesia in an operating room, it involves taking a large tissue sample. A sample from a cone biopsy cervix tissue is sent for cytology if human papilloma virus or ASCUS is suspected.
