Cervix Stenotic
A cervix stenotic problem may result from human papillomavirus being treated by cone biopsy.
Cervical stenosis can occur from cervical trauma and after menopause from atrophy. Surgical procedures performed on the cervical tissue also cause scar tissue. Both laser cone biopsy and cryotherapy used to remove abnormal cells from the cervix increase the risk of developing this condition because of an abnormal healing response.

Human Papillomavirus, Cone Biopsy
A history of cervical surgeries increases the occurrence of stenosis, including the various surgeries performed for an abnormal pap smear. A complication that arises from this condition is the scar tissue does not stretch and dilate. Cervical stenosis also causes poor mucus production and decreased sperm transport. A cervix stenotic problem may result from human papillomavirus being treated by cone biopsy.
