Biopsy Of The Cervix
Biopsy of the cervix is recommended to confirm possible cervical cancer, often in the form of a cone biopsy.
Sometimes this procedure itself can be used to treat pre-cancers or very early cancers;
another reasons for doing the procedure are: abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility. It usually takes 15-30 min; light bleeding is possible after it. Complications are not common, infection can occur very rarely.
